- Ima GettingFedUpWithYouAskingForMyRealName Review added: 2018.08.05★ ★ ★ ★ ★I've just had my new kitchen fitted by Gary. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending his company to anyone facing a similar project.
Gary is an expert joiner. He also has access to other trades such as plastering, plumbing and electricians.
Not everything went smoothly. e.g., we were let down by a tiler who acted unprofessionally. So I ended up dealing with that part of the job myself. But at every turn Gary himself was professional, helpful and highly-skilled in his own field. (With the tiler, we just agreed I'd take care of that part of the job myself, and deducted an amount from the original quote to compensate. I think that was a fair way to resolve the issue.)
Other good points were that Gary was very good at working autonomously to fix emergent issues. e.g., although I could source most of the materials myself, I wasn't able to find the correct ply for the floor underlay. Gary sourced this himself, and didn't allow that issue to delay the job. Another example would be my kitchen ceiling - it was uneven owing to an old water leak. Gary fixed this issue and ensured the plastering task that depended upon the ceiling being sound stayed on track. If you show him the appropriate degree of trust, he doesn't just wait for step-by-step instructions; he pro-actively solves problems with minimal fuss and provides you with a list of solutions rather than just a list of problems. This aspect of his approach to work was greatly appreciated by me.
I can't recommend Gary highly enough. I'm very glad someone I trust recommended him to me for this job. I've included some photos of the results for reference.
